The appellant who was the elected representative of the Puliparaipatti Panchayat, Vembakottai Union, and functioning as Vice President, was denuded of his power to sign the cheque. Therefore, he approached this Court by filing Writ Petition(MD)No.47 of 2014 challenging the order passed by the Inspector of Panchayats namely, the District Collector, Virudhunagar District. The writ petition was dismissed and therefore, the present appeal is preferred. 2.

By efflux of time, the tenure of his elected post has expired and without adverting to the merits of this appeal, this Court is of the view that the appeal is to be dismissed as infructuous. Page No.2 of 4

Hence, the Writ Appeal is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
