JUDGMENT

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by DR.ANITA SUMANTH , J.) The writ petitioner before this Court is the Scientific Agriculture Laboratory. The writ petition was dismissed on the ground of laches noting that it had been filed beyond reasonable time being 8 years from the date of order. The explanation tendered was considered and rejected after detailed discussion.

2.In the Writ Appeal our predecessors had noted that there was no compliance of the appellant for payment of batta and the respondent was, by order dated 26.06.2018, directed to take steps on before 10.07.2018, failing which the appeal would stand dismissed in respect of the second respondent, employee/contesting respondent. Till date, no batta has been paid.

3.Mr.R.Aravindan, learned counsel appearing for the appellant seeks one more opportunity, which we are not inclined to grant, seeing the trajectory that the matter has taken thus far. It appears clear that the appellant is not serious in contesting the litigation. This Writ Appeal 2/4

stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
