2.The present writ petition has been filed in the nature of writ of mandamus, seeking a direction against the third respondent/District Registrar (Admin), District Registrar Office, Tirunelveli, Tirunelveli District, to conduct an enquiry and dispose of the same within the stipulated time period on the basis of the proceedings of the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.3053/Vu/2021, dated 10.08.2021.

3.It is seen from a perusal of the affidavit that the second respondent/Deputy Inspector General of Registration, Tirunelveli Region, St. Marks Road, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District, had forwarded his aforesaid proceedings for taking necessary action to the third respondent.

4.In view of the fact that the entire issue surrounds claim for property, grant of patta and cancellation of patta, it is only prudent that I do not enter into a detailed discussion on the facts. However, if the third respondent had actually received the relevant records from the office of the second respondent, then from that particular date onwards, an obligation is placed on the third respondent to complete the enquiry within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of those particular records /receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent during the course of his hearing may issue notice not only to the petitioner but also to the respondents 5 to 7 and thereafter, examine the relevant records and other documents produced by them and then pass necessary orders. 5.With the above observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
