ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking Police protection for the temple festival.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, by referring a photograph, submits that the fourth respondent has blocked the public pathway, where the chariot has to be taken during the festival. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first and second respondents submits that the respondent Police would ascertain whether any public pathway is blocked and in that event, they would take necessary action to remove the same. However, the 2/5

respondent Police is having certain grievance with regard to the request for the conduct of festival for three days, that too late night hours.

4.In view of the above, the respondent Police shall consider the request of the petitioner by imposing certain conditions restraining the time and shall ensure that nobody is blocking the public pathway. Since the petitioner is seeking protection for three days, the respondent Police shall provide the same by deputing two Police personnel (Preferably one male and one female) for Police protection. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) for each Police personnel. The amount shall be utilized for Station benefits. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
