ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA J.) This petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to grant 28 days ordinary leave without police escort to the petitioner namely Pattan @ Pattu, S/o. Murugan, Life Convict PID No.29142 confined at Open Air Prison, Purasadai Udaippu, Sivagangai.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, learned Counsel for State of Tamilnadu (Crl.Side) would submit that the representation of the petitioner has been considered and by order dated 29.06.2026 of the 1st respondent, the petitioner / convict prisoner has been granted with 28 days of ordinary without escort.
3. At this juncture, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has been directed to execute sureties before the Tahsildar and that condition may be modified.
4. In view of the above, the convict prisoner is permitted to execute sureties before the Superintendent of Prison concerned and during leave period, he shall report before the 4th respondent police every day at 06.00 p.m. Except the above, all other conditions in the order dated 29.06.2026 shall remain in tact.
