O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection to provide Annathanam for nearly 10,000 people at Kotta Chettiar Mandapam, Theradi Veethi, Tiruchendur schedule to be held on 19.08.2024 on the eve of Avanai Pournami festival.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the State would submit that they have not received any representation from the petitioner.

3. It is seen from the records that the representation, dated 11.08.2024 was sent on 12.08.2024 and on that day itself, the present petition came to be filed.

4. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the petitioner is directed to give fresh representation to the third respondent and on receipt of such representation, the third respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders on 15.08.2024 in accordance with law.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
