PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the 4th respondent in his proceedings in C.No.A2/38565/2019 dated 14.10.2019 and quash the same as illegal and consequently to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post Special Sub-Inspector of Police with effect from the date on which his immediate junior was promoted within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner died on 26.10.2024. The death certificate of the petitioner was also placed on record by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents on the last hearing date i.e., on 17.10.2025. Till date, steps
have not been taken to substitute the legal representatives of the deceased petitioner.
