(Order of the Court was made by D. KRISHNAKUMAR, J.) The instant Writ Petition has been filed to declare Part III of the Gazette Notification dated 25.01.2018 pertaining to the Amendment made in Section 122 of the Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971 as illegal.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in an identical situation, the Division Bench of this Court in W.P(MD)No.362 of 2019, dated 25.02.2020 [The Correspondent Vs. The Secretary and 2/5

others] has upheld that the amendment is only with prospective effect and not with retrospective effect. The said Judgment is squarely applicable to the facts and circumstances of the case on hand. 3.In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of in terms of the order passed in W.P(MD)No.362 of 2019, dated 25.02.2020 [The Correspondent Vs.
