O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant permission and adequate police protection in the festival held on 15.08.2024, 16.08.2024 and 23.08.2024 in the Temple of Arulmigu Sree Karuppasamy Thirukovil at Thenmalai, Sivagiri Taluk, Tenkasi District in pursuance to the petitioner's representation, dated 02.08.2024.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the State would submit that the peace committee meeting was held on 18.07.2024 by the Tahsildar in the presence of Police and the Revenue Officials and they have decided to conduct the fesitval two days on 15.08.2024 and 16.08.2024.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondent police may be directed to give police protection for the festival days, which came to be decided in the peace committee meeting held on 18.07.2024.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel on either side, the second respondent is directed to consider petitioner's representation and pass orders in accordance with law.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
