... Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the order dated 09.08.2024 in Na.Ka.No. 09/Ka.Aa./Thirupachethi/2024 passed by the third respondent and set aside the same and to direct the respondents to grant the necessary permission to conduct "Kabbadi Tournament" on 16.08.2024 and 17.08.2024 at any time stipulated by this Court. 1/4

For Petitioner : Mr.M.Dinesh Hari Sudarsan For Respondents : Mr.P.Kottai Chamy Government Advocate (Crl. Side)

ORDER

The Writ Petition is directed against the order dated 09.08.2024 passed by the third respondent and for directions to the respondents to grant necessary permission to conduct "Kabbadi Tournament" on 16.08.2024 and 17.08.2024 at any time stipulated by this Court.

2. Mr.P.Kottai Chamy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. It is seen from the records that in order to conduct Karakattam on 13.08.2024 and Kabadi match on 16.08.2024 and 17.08.2024, the writ petitioner's side has sent a representation dated 07.08.2024 before the third respondent and that the third respondent has passed the impugned order dated 09.08.2024 rejecting the permission, for which, one Pandi has earlier filed a writ petition in W.P.(MD)No.19445 of 2024 2/4

challenging the said rejection order and when the same was taken up for final disposal yesterday (13.08.2024), this Court, considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the writ petitioner that they are seeking permission only to conduct Karakattam on 13.08.2024 from 07.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m., has directed the second respondent therein to consider the same and pass orders.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner would submit that since they have pressed to conduct the karakattam programme beyond 10.00 p.m., permission was rejected.

5. Now one Pandi, S/o.Subramani has filed the present writ petition seeking permission to conduct Kabadi match. Since the said relief was not pressed, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
