O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the 3rd respondent to process and grant financial assistance for the education of the petitioner's grand daughter namely, Sivaranjini, who lost her parents, based on his representations.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

4. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner's daughter died on the same day when his granddaughter Sivaranjani was born. The father of the child/son-in-law of the petitioner abandoned Sivaranjani and did not come to see her. Despite his efforts to locate him, the petitioner 2/5

later came to know that his son-in-law also passed away. The petitioner is used to go to daily wage labor and his wife also died. The petitioner has been taking care of his granddaughter and her studies. Now she is studying 11th Standard. In order to get financial assistance, he gave several representations to the respondents. But so far no action has been taken. Hence, this petition.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's application now come in Sl.No.400 in the seniority list. He further submitted that the amount will be disbursed within one month.

6. The said submission is recorded. As the entitlement of the petitioner is not disputed and the application is normally considered on seniority basis, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the application/representation of the petitioner and disburse the amount as per seniority, within a period of one month or less than two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
