This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a direction to the 2nd and 3rd respondents to conduct a peace committee meeting and take necessary action against the respondent Nos.4& 5 for misappropriation so as to protect the interest of Perumal Koil situated at Arasarkulam, Srivaigundam Taluk, Thoothukudi District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 05.08.2024.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner is not allowed to pay the tax collected by the temple authorities when the petitioner raised allegation about not maintaining accounts, the petitioner has been excluded and 2/5
prevented from paying the tax to the temple. Hence, he seeks a direction to held a peace committee meeting.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents submitted that in the petitioner's village, there are 165 families and more than 130 families are united to conduct the temple festival and there is no issues at all and all of them are paying taxes regularly, but the petitioner alone is creating some issues. It is further assured by the learned Special Government Pleader that the petitioner is also allowed to worship and to pay the tax. However, no requirement for holding the peace committee meeting in this regard.
5. Recording the above said submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
