ORDER
The petitioner herein after making an application, dated 13.04.2018 seeking police protection fearing life threat at the hands of the Natchiyappan and others had approached this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking mandamus to grant adequate police protection to the petitioner's life and limb.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 8 states that the petitioner involved in criminal case had quarreled with Natchiyappan family hence had filed this application to take advantage of the police protection and carry on his illegal activity.

On perusing the averments made in the affidavit and the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court finds that there is no merit in this writ petition to entertain and hence, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
