Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct "Kabadi Competition" on 30.10.2021 and 31.10.2021, along with necessary sound service at Kathiravan Colony, Poolankudiruppu, Chenkottai Taluk, Tenkasi District.

ORDER

(This writ petition is heard through video conference) This petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct "Kabadi Competition" on 30.10.2021 and 31.10.2021, along with necessary sound service at Kathiravan Colony, Poolankudiruppu, Chenkottai Taluk, Tenkasi District.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that after the presentation of this petition, the representation given by the petitioner was rejected by the respondent police citing the covid pandemic situation and the local body election. Hence, the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD).No.19658 of 2021 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that now the Government has passed Government Orders permitting such type of tournaments with conditions.

4.In view of the above, it appears that the matter has become infructuous, however, the petitioner is at liberty to give a fresh representation by mentioning a specific date and if such representation is sent, the respondent police shall act on the same depending upon the Government Circulars and orders on that date. 5.With the above direction and liberty, this writ petition is disposed of as infructuous. No costs.
