2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and other accused have promised the defacto complainant that they will secure a job in the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and demanded a sum of Rs.40,00,000/-. Believing their words, the defacto complainant has paid the said amount to them. However, they have neither secured a job nor returned the money. Hence the case. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that this petitioner has received a sum of Rs.8 Lakhs as a loan from the defacto complainant and he has returned the same to him. However, this amount has been projected as if this petitioner has received the said amount for the purpose of arranging job. The learned counsel further submits that the petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offence.

4.This Court, by earlier order, dated 20.08.2024, directed the petitioner to appear before the respondent police for interrogation. Though he claims that he has parted with cheques on compulsion, it appears that he has not lodged any compliant before the authorities for the same.
