ORDER

The petitioners herein are facing prosecution in C.C.No.304 of 2014 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kuzhithurai, for the offence under Section 160 of I.P.C.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The defacto complainant/respondent herein filed a private complaint, as he felt aggrieved by the inaction of the local police.

4. It appears that due to some petty issue, a quarrel arose between the petitioners on the one hand and the respondent on the other. It is further seen that the respondent had suffered injuries.

5. This Court suggested to the petitioners' counsel that a sum of Rs.5,000/- can be paid to the respondent herein as token compensation. The second petitioner has agreed to do so. Hence, the second petitioner is directed to take a Demand Draft in favour of the respondent herein. The demand draft will be handed over to the respondent's counsel.

6. Therefore, I am of the view that further continuance of the impugned prosecution will not serve the ends of justice. In this

view of the matter, the impugned prosecution stands quashed. The Criminal Original petition stands allowed.
