This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the Respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.70 of 2022 on its file and file the final report within a stipulated period.

2. The case of the Petitioner is that the occurrence took place in the month of April, till date investigation had not proceeded on the right track. The Petitioner had lost her seven sovereigns gold chain on 07.04.2022. After registering the case by the Respondent Police there is no further development. The Petitioner had repeatedly visited the Police Station, even there after too there is no development.

3. In the light of the above circumstances, the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai District is directed to entrust the same to a special team that may be formed by him regarding incidents of chain snatching to trace out the culprits, seize the jewels from the accused persons and hand over the same to the Petitioner and similar placed other persons. 2/4

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
