Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner has submitted representation seeking notional promotion as Regional Transport Officer on par with his erstwhile junior with effect from 13.04.2017. The petitioner also wants seniority to be fixed in the cadre of Regional Transport Officer. The representation is pending for more than eight months.

3. The respondent is directed to pass appropriate order thereon within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. It is open to the respondent to pass order one way or the other. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
