PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to bring the workmen as well as employees belonging to "Working Group" and "Miscellaneous Group" from the posts of Junior Assistant to Senior Assistant as single cadre and for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to grant the petitioners promotion to the post of Superintendent from the date on which the petitioner's immediate juniors, the respondents 4 to 21 herein in the Working Group were promoted as Superintendent with all consequential benefits by creating supernumerary posts in the cadre of Superintendent.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that 12th petitioner does not want to contest the Writ Petition for the reason that she had already been promoted as Superintendent. A letter was sent by the learned counsel for the petitioners to the Registry seeking permission to withdraw the Writ Petition insofar as 12th petitioner is concerned.
2. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed insofar as 12th petitioner is concerned. However, in respect of the other petitioners, the proceedings will go on. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
