ORDER

This is a petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the Respondents for alleged violation of the order, dated 12.06.2019 passed by the Writ Court in W.P.(MD)No.24933 of 2018.

2. Heard Mr.Raja Karthikeyan, learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner and Mr.F.Deepak, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the Respondents. Therefore, no further notice is required to be issued to the Respondents.

3. The Contempt Petition has been filed for non compliance of the judgment and order passed by the Writ Court in W.P.(MD)No.24933 of 2018 dated 12.06.2019 and the learned Single Judge of the Writ Court disposed of the said Writ Petition in the following terms: 2/6

"3.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought in the writ petition, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.11.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. "

Today, when the matter was taken up, Mr.F.Deepak, learned Special Government Pleader for the Respondents, produced an order dated 15.05.2020 passed by the President of Q1263 K.Vepankulam, Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, Vepankulam, Kamuthi Taluk, and submits that the representation submitted by the Petitioner was considered by the Respondents in accordance with law and whatever the amount is due to the Petitioner was paid to the Petitioner. Thus, he submits that Respondent has complied with the judgment and order of the Writ Court in W.P.(MD)No.24933 of 2018 dated 12.06.2019. A copy of 3/6

the order dated 15.05.2020 has been taken on record and the same has been furnished to the learned counsel for the Petitioner. Therefore, he prays that the Respondent may be discharged from the contempt proceedings.

5. Mr.Rajakarthikeyan, learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner received a copy of the order dated 15.05.2020, wherein the Respondent has decided the Petitioner's claim, albeit rejecting it. He further submits that if the Petitioner is aggrieved by the said order, he may be permitted to challenge it before the competent Court of law. The learned counsel states that he has no objection to the Respondent being discharged from the contempt proceedings.

6.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the Respondent, and upon perusal of the order dated 15.05.2020, passed by the President of Q1263 K.Vepankulam, Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, Vepankulam, Kamuthi Taluk, this Court is satisfied that the Respondent has fully complied with the judgment and order of the Writ Court dated 12.06.2019 passed in W.P.(MD)No.24933 of 2018. this Court deems it appropriate that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the contempt proceedings pending. Therefore, the Respondent is discharged from the contempt proceedings.

7. In view of the above, the Contempt Petition is disposed of with liberty to the Petitioner to challenge the order dated 15.05.2020 before the competent Court of law, if he is so aggrieved.
