PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to Expeditiously Conclude/Dispose the Prolonged Enquiry Proceeding bearing Na.Ka.No.PA1/4808/2016-2, dated 30.03.2017, pending more than 8 years is illegal and unconstitutional and it would put petitioner in irreparable loss and untold and pass such further or other orders as this Court. 1/4

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by an Assistant Engineer working in the District Rural Development Authority, Pudukkottai District, seeking a mandamus to dispose of her disciplinary proceedings as expeditiously as possible.

2.The petitioner herein was issued with a charge memo on 30.03.2017. The enquiry officer was appointed and he has already submitted his report on 23.07.2020. The first respondent is the authority to pass orders on the enquiry report.

3.Considering the fact that the enquiry is pending from the year 2017, onwards and the enquiry report has been submitted five years back, this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to pass final orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4.With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
