ORDER
The petitioner is facing trial in a case arising under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. This original petition has been filed for quashing the impugned proceedings. The contentions set out in the quash petition will have to be urged and established only in a regular trial. Therefore, leaving open all the contentions and defences of the petitioner, this original petition is dismissed. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the matter. The petitioner herein is a woman. She is based in Chennai. The case is being tried in Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ District. Therefore, the personal appearance of the petitioner is
dispensed with before the Court below. The learned Trial Judge shall not insist her personal appearance unless it is necessary or imperative. Of course, on all other occasions, she will have to be represented by her counsel. Connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
