ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to direct the first and second respondents to pay the maintenance amount of Rs.64,750/- to the writ petitioner. 2.The writ petitioner is the wife of the third respondent, who was employed as Special Sub Inspector of Police and retired from service. The writ petitioner was deserted by the third respondent and subsequently, obtained a decree of divorce from the Court of Law. However, the third respondent is liable to pay the maintenance amount as granted by the competent Court of law. 3.The third respondent made a submission that the maintenance amount of Rs.64,750/- had already been deducted by the Superintendent of Police, Trichirappalli and the said amount is now with the Government account. claim the said amount from the second respondent by producing adequate proof to show that she was the wife of the third respondent, who got divorce.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2 confirms that the said maintenance amount is lying with the Government account and in the event of producing the identity proof, the amount deducted from the third respondent will be paid to the writ petitioner. 5.This being the factum, the writ petitioner is at liberty to file an application along with the identify proof to the second respondent/Superintendent of Police, Trichirappalli and in the event of receiving any such request from the writ petitioner, the second respondent is directed to verify the identify proof and accordingly disburse the maintenance amount as expeditiously as possible.

6. With these directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
