The relief sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondent to appoint the petitioner in the post of Steno - Typist, Grade III as per the examination held on 07.07.2012 with reference to the recruitment Notification No.14 of 2012 dated 27.04.2012.
2.The learned Counsel for the writ petitioner states that pursuant to the recruitment notification issued by the respondent, she participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Steno- Typist Grade III. The writ petitioner was successful in the written examination and she secured 157 marks. The writ petitioner had secured above the cut-off marks. In spite of that, she was not selected and appointed. 3.Learned Counsel for the respondent states that no doubt, the writ petitioner was successful in the written examination and further secured 157 marks which is above the cut-off mark. However, the writ petitioner was not selected on account of the fact that she has not satisfied the technical qualification of higher grade in Shorthand and Typewriting both in Tamil and English. The candidates who all are possessing higher grade in all the four subjects namely Typewriting Tamil & English and Shorthand Tamil & English were selected and appointed. In view of the fact that the writ petitioner was not possessing the technical qualification of four higher grades in all the above subjects, she was not considered for appointment. 4.
It is pertinent to note that even as per the notification issued by the respondent for appointment to the post of Steno-Typist Grade III, it is categorically stated that the preference will be given to the candidates who all are possessing four higher grades in Shorthand Tamil and English and Typewriting Tamil and English. Thus, the case of the writ petitioner was not considered based on the terms and conditions of the notification as well as the cut-off mark. However, she was not selected on account of the fact that she does not possess the requisite technical qualification. This being the factum, the writ petitioner has not established any acceptable legal ground for the purpose of granting the relief sought for in the present writ petition.
