[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble CHIEF JUSTICE] Heard Mr.M.Kamalanathan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and Mr.S.Raja, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in and around Nagalapuram, there are various Government Schools and Colleges, however, the Public Transport service is not available adequately to cater to the needs of the people, more particularly, the students. The private colleges have their own transport facilities.
3. The buses will have to be plied by the Transport Corporation considering the number of passengers available and the feasibility of the routes also.
4. The petitioner contends that the petitioner has given a representation on 05.04.2023 to the respondents with regard to the various bus routes. The respondents 1 to 3 shall consider the representation given by the petitioner and also shall consider the feasibility, the number of passengers and take a decision with regard to the demand made by the petitioner-association. The said decision shall be taken within a period of three months from today.
5. The Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. [S.V.G., C.J.] [C.K., J.] 30.08.2023 Index : Yes / No RM
