Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to forbear the 5th respondent from illegally quarrying River Sand in survey number 337/1A and 337/1B, Kanjeerakudi Village, Keelakarai Union, Ramanathapuram District.

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner filed this writ petition with a specific stand that the fifth respondent has indulged in illegal quarrying. The fifth respondent had been granted permission to remove Savudu Soil. However, following the issuance of the notice in the writ petition, enquiry was conducted and it came to be known that the fifth respondent has indulged in illicit quarrying. It is submitted by the official respondents that license of the fifth respondent was cancelled and penalty also imposed vide proceedings dated 06.06.2019 and that the fifth respondent has not been permitted to conduct any quarrying activity as on date.

3.Recording the said development, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
