Packiyalakshmi in Patta No.1389 to an extent of 2 Acres, situated at Cookkal Village, Kodaikkanal Taluk, Dindigul District by virtue of assignment order of Tahsildar, Kodaikkanal in DKT No.49/1401 in Na.Ka.No.918/91-A2, dated 05.05.1992 by consider the petitioner's representation, dated 04.04.2024 forthwith.

ORDER

The writ petition is filed for changing the petitioner's name as Muthumani, W/o. Murugan instead of Packiyalakshmi in Patta No.1389.

2. The petitioner would submit that her given name is Muthumani and the name by which she was called in the locality was Packiyalakshmi. The land in question had been assigned to her on 22.05.1992 and assignment patta had issued in her name. In the patta, her name is wrongly mentioned as Packiyalakshmi the name by which she is known and not by Muthumani which is her given name. All public documents stand in the name of Packiyalakshmi.

3. In view of the above, a mandamus is issued to the the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 04.04.2024 and pass orders after verifying that Packiyalakshmi and Muthumani are one and the same by holding a local enquiry or by perusing the records. If the persons is one and the same, the respondents shall carry out the requisite correction in Patta No.1389 within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
