ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to extend the fishery rights lease for a further period of two years in accordance with G.O.(MS).No.201 Animal Husbandry and Fisheries (FS-IV) Department dated 19.10.2017, in respect of Ilanthirai Kondan Periyakulam Tank, Ilanthirai Kondan Village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2. According to the respondents, there was no drought in the petition mentioned area and the said area is having sufficient water. But the same was refuted by the petitioner stating that the Government has declared Virudhunagar District, as a drought affected area in G.O.(Ms).No.111 Revenue and Disaster Management Department Disaster Management Wing, D.M.III(1) Section dated 13.03.2024.

Recording the said submissions, this Court without expressing any opinion on merits is directing the official respondents to consider the petitioner's representation in the light of G.O.(Ms).No.111, Revenue and Disaster Management Department Disaster management Wing, D.M.III(1) Section dated 13.03.2024, G.O.No.201, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries (FS-IV) Department dated 19.10.2017 and in the light of the judgment in W.A.(MD)Nos.219 & 220 of 2020, and pass appropriate order in accordance with law, within a period of four

(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
