COMMON ORDER These petitions have been filed by Accused Nos.1 to 9 in Spl. S.C. No.39 of 2023 on the file of the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of SC/ST (POA) Act Cases, Pudukottai, seeking to quash the charge sheet, wherein the accused persons are charged with offences under Sections 147, 148, 149, 341, 294(b), 324, 307 and 506(2) of the IPC and Sections 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s), 3(2)(va) and 3(2) (v) of the SC/ST (POA) Act.
2. A perusal of the charge sheet reveals that the accused persons are alleged to have abused and attacked the defacto complainant with a wooden log, thereby causing injuries. A perusal of the medical records reveals that the injuries sustained are simple in nature. Therefore, Section 307 of the IPC is not attracted; rather, only Section 326 of the IPC would be applicable.
3. Pending trial, the parties have entered into a compromise, wherein, the defacto complainant has agreed for quashing of the charge sheet.
4. The defacto complainant is present in-person before this Court on 28.04.2026 and he acknowledged that he had agreed for quashing of charge sheet as against the petitioners.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the defacto complainant has received compensation of Rs.1,85,000/- under the SC/ST (POA) Act and may be directed to redeposit the same before the District Collector, Pudukkottai District.
6. Considering the fact that the parties have entered into a compromise and that the defacto complainant has acknowledged the same, this Court is inclined to quash the charge sheet. However, the learned counsel appearing for the third respondent submitted that the compensation amount of Rs.1,85,000/- will be redeposited on or before 10.07.2026 before the District Collector,
7. Considering the above said facts, this Court is inclined to pass the following order:
a) The charge sheet in Spl.SC.No.39 of 2023 on the file of the Special Court for exclusive trial of SC/ST (POA) Act cases stands quashed. b) The defacto-complainant is directed to deposit a sum of Rs.1,85,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Eighty Five Thousand only) before the District Collector, Pudukkottai District on or before 10.07.2026. 5/8
8. With the above directions, these Criminal Original Petitions stand allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
