Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner was removed from service vide order dated 21.07.2016 passed by the Superintendent of police, Theni District. Questioning the same, the petitioner filed an appeal but the same was also dismissed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dindigul Range, Dindigul on 24.09.2016. The petitioner did not pursue the matter further since he was entangled in criminal case also. It is now stated that C.C.No.59 of 2016 on the file of Judicial Magistrate, Uthamapalayam in which the petitioner is figured as A.3 ended in acquittal. The petitioner has given mercy petition before the first respondent. All that the petitioner wants is disposal of the same. 2/4

The first respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner's mercy petition dated 08.07.2022 on merits and in accordance with law and pass final order within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
