The petitioner challenges the appointment of the 5th respondent in the post of Senior Professor, School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.

2.Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the 5th respondent has been retired from service and therefore, the prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous and he has also made an endorsement to that effect.

3.Recording the abovesaid submission and the endorsement so made, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is dismissed.
