ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to initiate departmental action against the respondents 3 to 14. A representation sent by the writ petitioner reveals that the respondents had acted in violation of law and deprived the right of the people of that locality.

2. The petitioner states that riots are conducted in order to threaten the students in a college and several such incidents occurred due to the illegal activities of the respondents.

3. It is needless to state that the police officials are expected to function within the ambit of law. The officials are bound to implement the law and maintain law and order problem for maintaining peace and tranquility in the locality. The representation reveals that certain incidents affected the rights of the petitioner. In such an event, the writ petitioner ought to have instituted appropriate action during the relevant point of time. The incidents stated in the representation occurred several years back and after this length of time, it would not be appropriate to issue any such direction as such sought for in the present writ petition. If the petitioner is able to establish any specific evidence with an evidence and the said evidence shall be submitted before the competent authorities for initiating appropriate action.

4. With the above liberty, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
