Criminal Original Petition filed under section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the first respondent to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner to cut down jackfruit trees in his land measuring about 0.13.0 ares comprised in Survey No.281/10, 0.04.50 Ares comprised in Survey No.281/7, 0.0.50 Ares comprised in Survey No.281/8 situated at Thulukkampatti, Kodumpatti Village, Marungapuri Taluk, Trichy district, based on his representation, dated 31.03.2018.

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner, based on his representation, dated 31.03.2018.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that based on a complaint lodged by the petitioner, dated 31.03.2018 the second respondent has conducted enquiry the same has been closed.
3. The instant petition has been filed in the year 2018 and now, almost one year has been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/4
Crl OP(MD) No.7464 of 2018 now. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.
4. With the above observations, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
