ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to conduct a Peace Committee Meeting with regard to the conduct of the Temple Festival of Sri Chinna Mariamman Temple, situated at Mela Theru, Thiruppuvanam Pudur, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, and to ensure that no special honour is accorded to any individual during the Mulaippari Festival, which is scheduled to be held on 06.08.2025.
2. The dispute between the petitioner and the private respondents is that to lift the Karagam and place it on the head of the Poosari.
3. Therefore, this Court is of the considered opinion that the Poosari himself shall lift the Karagam, plays it on his head and proceed further to the temple. Neither the petitioner nor the private respondents shall have any right to lift the Karagam. With this direction, the petitioner and the private respondents are 2/4
permitted to conduct the festival.
4. It is made clear that this order shall be applicable only for this year alone. The petitioner and the private respondents are at liberty to approach the competent civil court to establish their rights. Based on the said judgment, the parties shall conduct the festival for the next year .
5. With the above said directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
