O R D E R

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider petitioner's representation dated 17.04.2019 and to appoint him in the post of Technical Assistant (Electrical) in TANGEDCO.

2.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents made a submission that the petitioner participated in the selection process for appointment to the post of Technical Assistant and was unsuccessful in the selection process. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation for considering his case for selection and based on such representation, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Appointment can never be claimed as a matter of right. All appointments are to be made strictly in accordance with the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD) No.20601 of 2019 Recruitment Rules. The petitioner was an unsuccessful candidate in the selection process. Therefore, sending a representation would not provide any ground to file a writ petition. Mere representation is not a ground to issue an order of appointment or to direct the respondents to consider the representation. When the petitioner was not successful in the selection process, his representation itself is not entertainable and therefore, the relief as such sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
