..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of Survey No. 441/5A for an extent of 18.33 Cents, which is situated at Kallikudi South Revenue Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy District on the basis of his representation dated 12.06.2025 within a time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to the second respondent to issue patta in his name in respect of the property comprised in Survey No. 441/5A, to an extent of 18.33 cents, situated at Kallikudi South Revenue Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy District, by considering his representation dated 12.06.2025.

2. Heard the arguments of Mr.K.Arunraj, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, the revenue records for the subject property stand in the joint names of the petitioner and his two brothers, namely, Senthilkumar and Prakash. The petitioner's brothers executed a settlement deed on 17.03.2025, settling their shares in the property in favour of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an online application on 12.06.2025 seeking transfer of patta in his name. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has approached this Court. 2/5

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents, submits that the application submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits, after affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and other interested parties, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
