ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein to re-issue the petitioner's passport. 2.According to the petitioner, a criminal case is pending against him in Crime No.226 of 2017 and hence the passport which has expired on 09.01.2022 has not been renewed. Further, he has submitted his explanation on 05.09.2022, relating to the said criminal case. 3.The learned Assistant Solicitor General of India appearing for the respondent contended that the explanation has been submitted only on 05.09.2022 and they will consider the said explanation on merits and pass orders.

4.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that there is some urgency in the matter and he requests the authorities to decide the issue before 20.09.2022.

5.In view of the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the explanation submitted by the petitioner on 05.09.2022 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 20.09.2022. 6.With the said direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
