JUDGMENT

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by N.Seshasayee, J.) The appellant herein, who was employed as daily wage employee, sought regularisation of his employment. This was negatived by the authorities and he has approached this Court and a learned Single Jude vide his order dated 26.02.2018 in W.P.(MD) No.20832 of 2013 has turned down the appellant's optimism of seeking regularisation of his employment. This order is under challenge in the present writ appeal.

2. The law is too firmly settled that a casual daily wage employee is not entitled to be regularised, as it is violative of the right of equal citizens to equal opportunity, which is the fountainhead of Article 16 of the Constitution.

3. In view of the above, this Court does not find any merit in this appeal. Accordingly, this Writ Appeal is dismissed confirming the order of the learned Single Judge, dated 26.02.2018 in W.P.(MD) No.20832 of 2013. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (N.S.S., J.)
