ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM,J.) We have heard Mr. M.Vallinayagam, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the Petitioner and Mr.K.Chellapandian, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents.

2.The petitioner's grievance is that the respondents have permitted a Public Meeting to be conducted in a bus-stand. 3.When the matter was mentioned to us today morning at 10.30 am., we directed notice to be served on the learned Special Government Pleader and instructions to be obtained.

4. When the matter is taken up at 2.30 pm., learned Additional Advocate General has produced written instructions from the concerned police authorities stating that the meeting will not be conducted in the bus-stand and that there will be no hindrance to the movement of the State Transport buses as well as the general public.

5. It is submitted that another political party had convened a meeting at the very same place on 17.09.2019.

6. Be that as it may, any public meeting, for which, permission is granted should not cause any hindrance to the local public or movement of vehicles, which pass through the place. In any event, bus-stand complex should not be used for any public meeting and any adjoining land if found suitable can be used, provided there is no objection.

7. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
