Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to hold an enquiry pursuant to the complaint of the petitioner, dated 25.02.2021 and complete the same within a time frame.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. The assistance of the Special Government Pleader is appreciated.

2. The present writ petition has been filed seeking time bound enquiry with respect to complaint under Section 5 and 23 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

3. Taking into consideration of the age of the petitioner viz., 91 years and that it is only appropriate, due preference is given to the said senior citizen, a direction is issued to the respondent to complete the enquiry on or before 31.12.2021.

4. With the above observation, the writ petition is allowed. No costs.
