Heard Mr.Babu Rajendran, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Ghandiraj, learned Special Government Pleader on behalf of the respondents.
2.The petitioner had filed an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Madurai District/first respondent, with respect to the property at Door No.301, Mahathma Gandhi Street, NGO Colony, Nagamalai Pudukkottai, Madurai-625 019. Subsequently, since, it was stated that the Revenue Divisional Officer in Melur/the second respondent, alone is the competent authority to examine the appeal papers, the papers had to be transferred to that office. A communication is now forwarded by the learned Counsel for the petitioner that the Revenue Divisional Officer, Melur/second respondent had received the relevant records and had also called for the report from the concerned Thasildar.

W.P(MD).No.20069 of 2021 3.The property is in Survey No.24/2 measuring to an extent of 1 acre 14 cents at Avaniapuram Village, Madurai. Let me not enter into any detailed discussion since the appeal is now under active consideration of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Melur/second respondent. A direction is given to the said official to proceed in manner known to law by issuing notice to the concerned parties, examine their representations and pass necessary orders. It is hoped that the appeal proceedings would be completed on or before 30.04.2022.
4.With the above observation, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
