ORDER

The petitioner, seeking permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 26.07.2025 and 27.07.2025 at Vellaikal Neerthekka Thotti, Vellaikal, Perungudi Post, Madurai District, has submitted a representation dated 17.07.2025 to the respondent Police and also filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent Police to grant permission to conduct Kabaddi Tournament.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that they are not having any objection for granting permission, however, the petitioner is requesting to grant permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament during the late night hours and therefore, they have not considered the petitioner's representation.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that they are intending to conduct Kabadi Tournament only from morning 6.00 a.m. 2/4

to evening 7.00 p.m. and they have not insisted for any permission for conducting Kabadi Tournament during the late night hours.

4. Since the petitioner is intending to conduct the Kabadi Tournament only from morning 6.00 a.m. to evening 7.00 p.m., the respondent Police shall grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 26.07.2025 and 27.07.2025, forthwith, with reasonable restrictions.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
