... Respondents PRAYER : This petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the detenue namely Neelavgathi, aged about 21 years, daughter of the petitioner herein, before this Court and set her at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of this Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J) This Petition has been filed by one Jeevanantham stating that his daughter Neelavgathi, aged about 21 years, did not return home on 13.09.2019, after she went for work in a Photostat Company.

2. The petitioner's daughter is a graduate. In this regard, a complaint has been lodged before the 2nd respondent Police, on 14.09.2019 and a case has been registered in Crime No.108 of 2019 stating that the whereabouts of his daughter is not known. Since no effective steps had been taken to trace his daughter, the petitioner has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition.

3. We find that the petitioner's daughter is aged about 21 years and she is a graduate. It is not clear as to whether she is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

HCP.(MD)No.973 of 2019 under illegal detention at all. In any event, the 2nd respondent Police has registered a case in Crime No.108 of 2019, on 16.09.2019. In the light of the same, we direct the 2nd respondent Police to constitute a special team and take all effective steps to trace the petitioner's daughter and file an appropriate report before the concerned Court, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
