ORDER
This criminal revision is directed against the condition imposed in Crl.M.P.No.3595 of 2024 in Crl.Appl.No.140 of 2024 dated 26.07.2024 on the file of the Principal Sessions Judge (FAC), Madurai. 1/4
2.It is pertinent to note that the respondent had filed a complaint under Section 200 Cr.P.C., for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and after trial, the learned Magistrate has passed a judgment convicting the petitioner to undergo one year simple imprisonment and directed to pay compensation of Rs.9,50,000/-. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred an appeal in Crl.A. No.140 of 2024 along with an application to suspend the sentence. The learned Principal Sessions Judge, taking note of the provisions, has rightly directed the petitioner to deposit 20% of the compensation amount and the same cannot be found fault with. 3.At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner may be given further time to deposit the amount as directed by the appellate Court.
4.Considering the above, the petitioner is directed to deposit 20% of the compensation amount as directed by the appellate Court, within a period of one month from today, ie., 29.08.2024. Accordingly, this 2/4
criminal revision case is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
