This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 & 2 to take necessary action for allotment of 2/6

properties comprised in S.No.20/4, to an extent of 20 acres 7 cents, Vilangudi, Madurai to the petitioners in equal shares as the same has been earmarked as 'Visalakshi Mills Labour Colony' in the ''A'' Settlement Register.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that he is unable to get instructions from the petitioners. 3.The petitioners are the erstwhile employees of the fourth respondent herein, namely, 'Visalakshi Mills Private Ltd''. For the welfare of the labourers, the fourth respondent has allotted properties comprised in S.Nos.20/1, 20/4, 20/7, 20/8 and the same has been classified as 'Vishalakshi Mills Labour Colony', wherein, the petitioners were residing, which were allotted to them when they were working in the company. They want assignment of the quarters in their favour and therefore they have filed this writ petition. 3/6

4.The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent submits that the entire liquidation process of the above Company has been completed and the properties have already been sold. Hence, they cannot claim the allotment of quarters as a matter of right as it is meant for the employees of the company. 5.This Court considered the submissions made on either side and perused the materials placed on record. 6.Admittedly, the fourth respondent Company has allotted certain properties as quarters for the welfare of their workers. The petitioners, who are the erstwhile employees of the fourth respondent are seeking for allotment of quarters. According to the version of the second respondent, it appears that the Company has been liquidated and the entire properties of the Company has also been sold out. At this juncture, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted.
