ORDER
Mr.PT.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.K.P.Krishnadoss, learned counsel takes notice for the third respondent.
2.The writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondents to readmit the petitioner in 4th year B.A.,B.L.(Hons) Course in the School of Excellence in Law, Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had joined 5 years law course with the second respondent School of Excellence in the year 2007, which was to be pursued and completed between 2007 and 2012. 2/6
4.It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner had managed to pursue the course up to 2010 and thereafter, could not continue the course due to several conditions in the family, as a result of which, the petitioner could not continue the legal education with the second respondent University. 5.It is submitted that the petitioner has now stabilized and is in a position to pursue the education and therefore, has sent a representation, dated 14.06.2025, with a request for allowing the petitioner to complete the B.A., B.L. (Honors) Course with the second respondent University. 6.The learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 and 2 submits that there is no scope for allowing a person to continue with the course long after he/she/they had severed the contact of the college and had failed to pursue the course. It is submitted that even as per the ordinance that came into force, it is not permissible to allow the petitioner to rejoin the course. 3/6
7.That apart, it is submitted that the petitioner has suppressed vital fact in the affidavit that the petitioner was allowed to rejoin the course in 2014. However, the petitioner has not chosen to consider the same. 8.Be that as it may, since the petitioner's representation, dated 14.06.2025 deserves to be considered, I therefore direct the second respondent to consider the same and pass appropriate orders strictly in accordance with the provisions applicable to the second respondent University, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 9.With the aforesaid directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
