Respondents Prayer :- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant exemption to the petitioner association from payment electricity consumption charges and rent for electrical installation, maintenance and other damages for the service connection No. S.C. No. 05007218147 in the premises occupied by the Peetitioner s association in the Advocates chamber Buildings in Madurai Bench of Madras High Court. ORDER:- This Writ Petition is coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Mr.N.Ga.Nataraj Government Advocate for Respondents No.1 and 2, Mr.G.Thalaimutharasu, Advocate For Respondents No.4 and 5 and Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, Advocate for Respondent No.3, and none having appeared for the Petitioner either in person or through Counsel, this Court made the following order:

(Order of the Court was made by D. KRISHNAKUMAR, J.) The matter is listed today under the caption 'for reporting compliance'. 2.A perusal of the papers shows that this Court by order dated 06.02.2015 has disposed of this Writ Petition and directed the matter to be listed on 16.03.2015 for reporting compliance. Subsequently, by an interim order dated 2/5

30.03.2015, this Court has granted two months time to the Government to pass appropriate orders and directed the matter to be listed after two months. Till such time Government Order is passed, the respondents 1 and 2 were directed to pay electricity consumption charges so far as the petitioner's Advocate Association is concerned. Subsequently, the matter has not been listed except on 30.09.2019 and on 08.01.2024, when the matter came up for hearing, the petitioner had not represented either in person or through his counsel. Even today, the petitioner has not chosen to appear either in person or through his counsel. The petitioner has not even taken any steps by circulating the letter to the Registry to list the matter for hearing. In such circumstances, we are of the view that the petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the matter diligently.

3.Hence, no further orders are required.
