PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order passed by the third respondent in e.f.vz;: 190/W1 L&O PS/MC/2023, dated 01.08.2023 and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the third respondent to grant necessary permission and provide adequate Police protection for conducting the Adal Padal programme on 13.08.2023 at about 06.00 P.M. to 10.00 P.M. as part of Temple festival of Arulmighu Shri Veyil Ugantha Amman Temple Function at Devi Nagar, Harvipatti Village, Thiruparnkunram Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.07.2023.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to grant permission for conducting of Adal Padal Programme at about 06.00 P.M. to 10.00 P.M. as part of Temple festival of Arulmighu Shri Veyil Ugantha Amman Temple Function at Devi Nagar, Harvipatti Village, Thiruparnkunram Taluk, Madurai District, basing on the representation given by the petitioner earlier.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submits that the request of the petitioner was rejected on 01.08.2023 vide proceedings in e.f.vz;: 190/W1 L&O PS/MC/2023 on the ground that as there are some traffic violations when the petitioner has conducted the programme last year.

4. Considering the circumstances, since the traffic violations alleged to have been committed during the conducting of the festival last year is very trivial in nature, the petitioner is directed to approach the respondent Police 2/4

and file fresh application, and on which, the respondent Police are directed to consider the same and provide permission as per the guidelines of the Police vide proceedings in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
