O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Tutor-cum-Warden at Government College Boys Hostel (BC-II) Pudukkottai, seeking a Mandamus as against the respondents to extend his services from 01.08.2024 till the end of the academic year 2024-2025.

2. The petitioner retired from service on 31.07.2024. Even before his retirement, the third respondent who is appointing authority has forwarded the proposal to the second respondent for extending the services of the writ petitioner in the end of the academic year. However, the second respondent has not passed orders before 31.07.2024 and therefore, the petitioner was attained superannuation.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2/5

Considering the fact that the second respondent has already received the proposal from the third respondent in the month of June 2024, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent herein to consider the proposal and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
