This Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Mr.B.Arun, Advocate for the Petitioner and of Mr.A.S.Abul Kalaam Azad, Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for the respondents 1 and 2, this Court made the following order:
This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is filed seeking extension of time granted in Crl.O.P(MD) No.9484 of 2025, dated 16.06.2025, to appear and furnish sureties.
2.While ordering Crl.OP(MD) No.9484 of 2025, this Court, directed the petitioners to surrender before the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Special Court for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Theni, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that due to their poor financial condition, the petitioners are unable to mobilize the required funds within the stipulated time. Therefore, they could not execute the bail bond and surrender before the concerned Special Court. Hence, he seeks extension of time. 4.In view of the above, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered and a further period of 10 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order is granted to the petitioners to surrender before the concerned Special Court.
